Long ago Vecin stood atop Mount Hyin and sang the song of weaving; this brought forth mighty oceans and lush forests. He planted the seeds of life which sprouted, the fruit bearings animals and beasts as well as the great races. He took the hands of light and darkness and married them. He gave light the sky, and darkness the underworld. He made the Great River of Life and the Wheel of Time which he set into motion. He let loose creatures of wonder, and gods to play in this new world, to watch over it. And then he returned to heaven. He cursed us though, when he saw the great races destroying each other. "Why do you betray me?" He called, we had no answer. He questioned every being of life and they all had no answer. He cursed us with death and illness, and he gave the playful gods mighty responsibilities. He opened the way for the Great River so that when a person should die, their soul might be given a chance to at least redeem itself and be reborn. Before he left, he created a final creature. The Keizin who he charged with the most noble of tasks. He called for him to find a mortal who might sit above all else and govern them, to sway them in the means which Vecin had created for them. The Keizin obeyed and Vecin once again returned home, however he always watched his world.
